You\u2019re planning a trip to Switzerland with your partner, and you thought about proposing to them during the trip to make it even more memorable, but you have no idea where to do that? Well well, I\u2019m here to help! As a local elopement and couple photographer that takes couples to the mountains all year round, I know what makes a good proposal spot, and where to find them. Today, I’m sharing some of the best proposal spots of Switzerland.

A note on sustainability: Switzerland, as many other countries, is starting to suffer from overtourism. As an elopement photographer, I rely on nature to do my job. This is why this article contains suggestions that aren’t only located in the most famous areas of Switzerland, but also in lesser known regions, that are equally as beautiful. I took the decision to not share the exact spot sometimes, as I want to protect these places as much as possible<\/strong> (so that you can also continue enjoying them freely on your travels!).<\/strong> I’m more than happy to share the exact spots with my clients of course!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finding the Right Proposal Spot – What to Take Into Consideration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Depending on the time of year, your schedule, the type of people you are, your trip can vary vastly. Do you want a proposal spot that is easily accessible, but that may be more crowded, or are you hikers, envisioning a proposal on top of a lonely mountain at sunset? \u2028
You\u2019ve come to the right place, because you can find the best of both worlds in Switzerland. Lots of mountains are accessible thanks to gondola stations that are perched on the highest peaks, as well as more secluded spots, if you know where to find them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Proposal Spots in Switzerland – The Different Regions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Here’s an overview of the regions you are most likely going to visit on your swiss trip. They don’t represent the whole country, but they all offer a variety of landscapes and advantages. I’m a photographer that lives in the South of Switzerland, and I would love to have you discover places that aren’t on the typical touristic route, hence why these suggestions aren’t the typical ones you’ll see online. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rh\u00f4ne Valley and Valais\/Wallis Region<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This region is home to the famous Matterhorn, but not only! If you\u2019re only going to Zermatt, you\u2019re (in my humble local opinion) missing out on so many hidden gems. The Valais region consists of the Pennine Alps, that are crossed by the Rh\u00f4ne river. This makes up the main valley. But on each side of the Rh\u00f4ne, there are smaller valleys, with stunning locations. This part of Switzerland is less famous than the Bernese Oberland for example, which means that if you\u2019re looking for a quiter spot, you\u2019re likely to find it here. Wether you\u2019d like to hike, or to find an accessible spot, Valais has it all. \u2028\u2028My tip: if you want to plan a proposal in that region, renting a car might be useful, as there are less gondola stations than in other stations.<\/p>\n\n\n
