Dreamy Sunrise Elopement In The Swiss Alps
The Perks of Planning an Elopement at Sunrise
If you want to make your elopement day extra special, why not plan a sunrise adventure, like S & A? The swiss Alps can be pretty busy, and with a sunrise elopement, you pretty much ensure privacy, and a day that’ll be like no other. Imagine walking into the night, and slowly seeing the landscape unfold in front of your eyes. These are moments you will remember for ever, as hardly ever take the time to do stuff like that. A sunrise elopement will make you feel like you’re the last lovers in the universe even more than with a regular elopement, how romantic is that?
S & A’s Sunrise Elopement in the Swiss Alps
On an early September day last year, we met at their chalet in the middle of the night. I woke up at 1:30am, and while driving to their rental chalet, I crossed path with several wild animals, including a fox (I love foxes!!). It always feels a bit surreal to meet my couples at 2 in the morning, as if this was totally normal! We started with S getting ready, while A was chilling in the living room. I love those quiet moments, they always feel so special.
Their Sunrise Hike In The Swiss Alps
We then set off for the trailhead and began our hike, crossing path with numerous cows, and a frog (yes, that’s important!). As the sun started to light up from behind the mountains, they discovered the landscape. This is something I love about sunrise elopements: I know the amazing landscape my couple is about to witnes, but they don’t, and it makes that moment magical. On the last bit of the ascent, we were even blessed with the sight of an ibex. We finally reached the summit, as the wind was blowing over the tall grasses.
An Emotional First Look and Ceremony at Dawn
S & A got changed and had the most emotional first look. They then exchanged vows, which left all of us crying (we love a good early happy cry), as the sun finally rose. This was a moment I will never forget, one where time stopped.

They filled an old visitor’s book that I knew was hidden under a rock, in a metal case, for people to leave a note. They then had their first dance, all alone on that mountain top, only witnessed by the surrounding mountains, and me.
After that, we popped some champagne and had snacks. And we saw an ibex again! Hello?! We then hiked back down through fields and forests, and they had a romantic boat trip on the small mountain lake we could see from the mountain top.

I absolutely loved this day and the connection we shared. It’s truly an honour to share my region with couples from all over the world, and I’m forever thankful S & A trusted me. Thank you, thank you, thank you 💛
